Custom Design process
Custom Design process
Your Gown is guaranteed to be a unique Dress4Dance creation. This does not apply to training attire, menswear, jewelry and accessories. We are not responsible for Dress4Dance designs, although copyrighted, being copied by other ballroom attire makers.
Please fill out the online Made-to-Measure order form. Please tell us about yourself. It is important that we know your dance style, dance experience, what the outfit is for, your favorite colors, etc.
Please share with us any ideas you may have for your dream costume.
We have a professional design team to help you with your final selection. Feel free to e-mail us your measurements (you can also enclose your photo) and we'll help you pick the gown that will suit you best.
A payment of $500 representing a fee for custom design sketches must be made before we begin to design your gown. This amount is a non-refundable deposit and will be applied toward the final price of the outfit.
The $500 custom-design deposit compensates Dress4Dance for design services and work performed in connection with developing the customer's custom design. Once design work has commenced, the deposit is non-refundable, except to the extent a refund is required by applicable law.
After we receive the deposit, we will begin sketching outfits for you. We will revise the sketches until you are happy with the design. Please consider these sketches carefully. Once we start constructing the gown, any design changes that result in added labor or material will cost extra.
Customer-requested changes after approval of a design may affect the price and estimated completion date. Dress4Dance will advise the customer of material additional charges before proceeding with a substantial customer-requested change.
Once the sketch is approved, we will send you a contract to sign. Please return it to us with the down payment that will enable us to start the manufacturing process. We require a 50% deposit on custom orders. The balance is payable upon completion of the order.
Custom and made-to-measure orders are produced specifically for the customer. After the customer approves the design and Dress4Dance commences production, the order may not be cancelled, returned, or refunded because of a change of mind, change of event, personal preference, or other customer-initiated reason, except as expressly provided in the applicable custom-order agreement or as required by law.
Fabric and Material Selection. Dress4Dance may provide fabric swatches and rhinestone samples for Customer approval when available from its existing inventory. If the Customer selects fabrics or materials not in Dress4Dance inventory that must be specially ordered, physical swatches will not be provided before ordering. Selection will be based on available supplier photographs, descriptions, color references, or other information. Actual colors, textures, and finishes may vary due to lighting, screen settings, dye lots, and manufacturing variations. By approving the selection, the Customer authorizes Dress4Dance to purchase the specified materials without physical swatch approval. Subsequent Customer-requested changes may result in additional material costs, labor charges, and changes to the estimated completion date. This provision does not limit rights concerning materially incorrect, defective, or nonconforming materials under applicable law..
Customer approvals, including design, color, fabric, decoration, and other requested approvals, may affect the production schedule. Delays in providing requested approvals, measurements, information, or responses may result in a corresponding change to the estimated completion date.
We will work on your budget. We can decorate your outfit in stages. For example, we'll decorate the gown with some stones. You can send it back to us later for additional decorations. We make sure that the gown looks complete at any stage.
Rush Orders and Customer-Requested Expedited Completion
Rush Orders and Customer-Requested Expedited Completion
Please let us know your timeframe when ordering the gown.
The standard estimated production and delivery timeframe for custom orders is eight (8) to ten (10) weeks, measured from satisfaction of all prerequisites in the Custom Order Payment Terms and Production Timeframes section. Requests for earlier completion are subject to Dress4Dance acceptance and the rush-order terms below.
A rush-order surcharge may apply when either: (1) a customer initially places an order with a requested completion date that requires expedited production; or (2) after Dress4Dance has accepted an order, the customer requests that the previously agreed or estimated completion date be moved to an earlier date.
A customer request to accelerate an existing order is subject to Dress4Dance's approval and production capacity. Dress4Dance is not obligated to accept a shortened completion schedule after an order has been accepted.
If Dress4Dance agrees to expedite the order, the applicable rush surcharge may be added to the order balance. The surcharge is calculated on the original retail price before discounts or credits, regardless of the remaining unpaid balance.
Unless otherwise quoted and agreed upon in writing, Dress4Dance may apply a twenty percent (20%) rush surcharge when the accepted expedited completion date is less than one (1) month away, or a thirty percent (30%) rush surcharge when the accepted expedited completion date is two (2) weeks or less away. The 30% rate applies instead of, not in addition to, the 20% rate. For accepted expedited completion dates between one month and eight weeks away, any rush surcharge will be separately quoted and approved before acceptance. All rush surcharges are calculated on the original retail price of the costume before any discounts, coupons, promotions, store credits, or other price reductions or credits. Rush surcharges are not reduced by those discounts or credits unless Dress4Dance expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
For example, if an order was originally accepted with an estimated completion date three months away and the customer later requests completion in one month, Dress4Dance may treat the requested acceleration as a rush order and apply the applicable rush surcharge if Dress4Dance agrees to the new schedule.
Any rush surcharge will be disclosed to the customer before Dress4Dance accepts the expedited completion request. The original completion schedule remains in effect unless and until Dress4Dance accepts the customer's request for an earlier date.
Payment of a rush surcharge does not make a completion, shipping, delivery, competition, or event date guaranteed unless Dress4Dance expressly agrees in writing that a specific date is guaranteed. Customer-requested changes to the design, materials, measurements, decoration, or other order details after a rush schedule is accepted may require a further change to the estimated completion date and/or additional charges.
All listed and quoted prices are Dress4Dance regular retail prices. Where offered, a 5% discount may apply when the entire purchase price is paid in cash, subject to the disclosed terms of the discount. Any credit card processing fee is separate from a cash discount and is assessed only where legally permitted and properly disclosed.
Unless expressly authorized by Dress4Dance, the cash discount does not apply to deposits, partial payments, payment plans, or transactions paid in whole or in part by credit card, and may not be combined with another discount, coupon, promotion, or special pricing.
We are excited to work with you on your gown. Each gown will be built exclusively for you, according to your measurements. We recommend a minimum of two fittings to ensure a proper fit.
Because fit depends upon body shape, posture, measurement accuracy, undergarments, and personal preference, alterations or final fit adjustments may be required even when a garment is constructed according to measurements provided to Dress4Dance.
We can provide ordinary alterations upon request at $95.00 per labor hour plus materials and shipping. Customer-requested changes to approved custom-order measurements or design are instead subject to the $95.00 hourly rate and other terms in the Customer-Requested Changes and Measurement Adjustments section.
Labor rate alteration charges, including applicable materials and shipping, will be disclosed to the customer before non-routine alteration work is performed.
For custom orders please contact us for fabric and color availability. Fashions change fast. We try to make sure you'll get the most up-to-date look.
The contract must be signed by the party responsible for payment under the contract.
If the terms of a signed custom-order agreement directly conflict with these general policies, the terms of the signed custom-order agreement will control with respect to that transaction, subject to applicable law.
Ready-to-Wear and Dress4Dance workshop outfits.
Ready-to-Wear and Dress4Dance workshop outfits.
We have a line of ready-to-wear outfits. These items are in stock and available for immediate delivery.
Because of the highly stretchable nature of the fabric we use to manufacture gowns, most outfits can accommodate different figure types and sizes with minimum or no alteration. For example, one gown can be size 4 and still perfectly fit a dancer wearing size 8.
Size designations and fit descriptions are guidelines only and do not guarantee that a particular garment will fit a particular customer without alteration.
Dress4Dance workshop stocks dance outfits in different stages of readiness. These could be sketches that are finalized and ready for production or outfits that are completed and ready to be decorated. This is a good opportunity to have a gown created on short notice but still have it customized to your taste.
To order a D4D workshop outfit, please fill out the Dress4Dance workshop order form, sign it and return it to us with full payment for the undecorated outfit plus the down payment for decorations. Please contact us for an estimate. The balance is due upon completion of the order.
Once a workshop outfit has been customized, altered, decorated, or otherwise modified at the customer's request, it is a final-sale item and is not returnable or refundable because of a change of mind, change of event, or personal preference, subject to rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.Layaway plan
Layaway plan
Dress4Dance provides an option for ready-to-wear competition costume layaway. The merchandise will be released to the customer after the final payment has been made.
Unless otherwise provided in a written layaway agreement, a customer may cancel an eligible layaway before final payment. A disclosed restocking fee of 20% of the original merchandise purchase price may be deducted from amounts paid, subject to applicable law; any remaining eligible amount will be issued as Dress4Dance store credit. The fee will not be collected in excess of amounts paid unless a separately agreed and lawful obligation applies. Any separately disclosed non-refundable service fee is governed by the signed layaway agreement.
A layaway for a costume that has been altered, customized, decorated, or otherwise modified at the customer's request may not be cancelled and is not eligible for refund or store credit, except as required by applicable law. Pre-owned costumes placed on layaway are also non-cancellable.
Customers must arrange for pickup or delivery of fully paid merchandise within a reasonable time after Dress4Dance notifies the customer that the merchandise is ready. Merchandise left with Dress4Dance for more than six months may be subject to storage, abandoned-property, or other procedures permitted by applicable law. Dress4Dance will not treat fully paid customer property as abandoned or dispose of it except after any notice required by applicable law.
If no layaway payment is received for six months, Dress4Dance may treat the layaway as defaulted after providing any notice required by the applicable agreement or law. Dress4Dance may then exercise the remedies permitted under the layaway agreement and applicable law.
Any permitted layaway cancellation must be requested in writing. Store credit issued following a layaway cancellation may be used only for eligible future Dress4Dance purchases and may not be applied retroactively. Credit expiration, transferability and other restrictions, if any, must be disclosed when credit is issued. Fully paid layaway merchandise is subject to the Shipping, Insurance and Risk of Loss Policy when shipped; full payment alone does not determine transit risk.Try Out Procedures

Re-Sale / Consignment Procedures
Re-Sale / Consignment Procedures
Dress4Dance, LLC may at its sole discretion, accept Costumes for Consignment Re-Sale.
Dress4Dance, LLC may require the Seller to pay a non-refundable $99.00 per costume (subject to change) CONSIGNMENT INTAKE/PROCESSING FEE to cover expenses related to adding the Re-Sale costume to inventory, the website, and related sales channels.
The applicable consignment intake/processing fee will be disclosed and agreed to before Dress4Dance accepts the costume for consignment.
Upon sale of the Costume(s), the Seller will receive either 50% of the Sale price as a credit toward the purchase of a brand-new Costume, or 25% of the sale price as a cash payment.
Each new costume can only be credited with one pre-owned item sold, not to exceed 50% of the price of the new costume.
Acceptance of a costume for consignment does not guarantee that the costume will sell or that it will sell within any particular period.
The applicable consignment agreement may specify the consignment period, listing price, Dress4Dance's authority to reduce or negotiate the selling price, seller payment terms, and the procedure and deadline for retrieving unsold merchandise.
The seller represents that the seller owns the consigned costume, has authority to sell it, and has disclosed any material damage or condition issue known to the seller.
Credit Cards, Returns and Shipping policy
Credit Cards, Returns and Shipping policy
Dress4Dance accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cash, checks, bank wire transfers, and Zelle for eligible purchases, including custom-order down payments, installment payments, and final balances. Credit card payments are subject to the Credit Card Payments and Processing Fees policy below.
Credit Card Payments and Processing Fees
Where permitted by applicable law and applicable card-network and payment-processor rules, Dress4Dance may assess a separately disclosed processing fee on eligible card transactions. Any applicable fee will be presented to the Customer before payment authorization. Dress4Dance will not assess a fee on any transaction for which such a fee is prohibited by law or applicable payment-network rules.
For a voluntary Customer-requested cancellation, return, or refund, the originally disclosed credit card processing fee is non-refundable only to the extent permitted by applicable law and card-network rules. If Dress4Dance must refund or reverse the processing fee under law, network rules, or because the transaction was erroneous or Dress4Dance failed to provide the agreed goods or services, the fee will also be refunded or reversed as required.
The non-refundability of an eligible credit card processing fee is separate from the refundability of any merchandise price, deposit, or other payment under the applicable return and cancellation policies.
Eligible merchandise purchased at dance competitions, studio trunk shows, or other off-site venues may be subject to a disclosed 25% return or cancellation fee. This fee applies only where a return or cancellation is otherwise permitted; it does not create a right to return final-sale merchandise. Unless expressly disclosed and agreed otherwise, the 25% event fee and 20% standard restocking fee will not both be imposed on the same merchandise return. Fees are calculated on the merchandise purchase price excluding sales tax and shipping.
Since Custom Design and D4D workshop outfits are cut-to-measure and custom decorated to your taste they are NOT RETURNABLE. Please make your selection with care.
Custom, made-to-measure, customized, and customer-decorated merchandise is final sale and is not returnable or refundable because of change of mind, change of event, fit preference, color or design preference after approval, or another customer-initiated reason, except as expressly provided in the applicable agreement or required by law.
Special-order items (heel protectors, rhinestones, shoes, accessories, etc.) purchased through Dress4Dance are not returnable.
Special-order items are final sale once ordered for the customer, except as required by law.
We want you to be happy with your purchase. When choosing previously owned outfits, keep in mind that they've been altered to the previous owner's figure. The chance of alterations being required is much greater than with a brand-new gown.
Previously owned outfits are NOT RETURNABLE.
Previously owned costumes are sold as final sale. Customers are encouraged to inspect or try on a pre-owned costume when practicable before purchase.
Ready-to-wear practice wear and in-stock shoes may be returned for store credit if the Customer requests a return authorization number within two (2) business days following delivery and the returned merchandise is received by Dress4Dance within five (5) business days of delivery. The Customer is responsible for return shipping on voluntary returns.
Eligible returns must be unused, unaltered, undamaged, and in original condition with original tags, proof of purchase, and the return authorization number. After inspection, Dress4Dance will issue store credit less a 20% restocking fee calculated on the merchandise purchase price, excluding sales tax and shipping. These conditions do not limit remedies required for defective or nonconforming goods.
Merchandise showing wear, use, alteration, damage, odor, stains, removed or altered tags, or other condition inconsistent with an unused return may be ineligible for return.
The above customer-convenience return policy does not eliminate any remedy that applicable law requires Dress4Dance to provide for merchandise that is materially defective, incorrect, or otherwise nonconforming.
Shipping fees are NOT REFUNDABLE. There will be no store credit issued for shipping fees.
This rule applies to voluntary customer returns and cancellations. It does not limit a refund of shipping or other amounts when such refund is required by applicable law.
Items altered according to Customer's order are NOT RETURNABLE.
Items altered, customized, or modified at the customer's request are final sale and not returnable because of change of mind, fit preference, change of event, or other customer-initiated reason, subject to applicable law.
Shipping, Insurance and Risk of Loss
Shipping, Insurance and Risk of Loss
Shipping, Insurance and Risk of Loss
1. Scope. This policy covers new purchases, custom-made and made-to-measure costumes, fully paid layaway merchandise, and Customer-owned items sent to or from Dress4Dance for alterations, repairs, or warranty service. Dress4Dance-owned rentals and try-outs remain subject to their separate agreements.
2. Arrangements and charges. Dress4Dance selects and arranges outbound shipment through independent carriers. The Customer pays disclosed shipping and handling charges unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law. Expedited services require prior disclosure of additional charges.
3. Mandatory shipping protection. Merchandise with a documented retail or replacement value of $1,000 or more must be shipped with insurance or equivalent shipping protection for its full insurable value, subject to the carrier or protection provider’s limits and exclusions. Dress4Dance arranges required protection for outbound shipments and discloses the charge before the Customer becomes obligated to pay it. Shipment may be held pending payment of disclosed charges. For merchandise below $1,000, protection is optional but strongly recommended.
4. Customer-owned items shipped to Dress4Dance. Customers arrange and pay for inbound shipping, packaging, tracking, and required insurance for Customer-owned garments sent for repairs, alterations, or warranty service. For items valued at $1,000 or more, Customers must purchase full-value available shipping protection. Dress4Dance is not responsible for carrier loss before the item is delivered into its custody, except to the extent caused by Dress4Dance or required by law.
5. Customer-owned items while at Dress4Dance. Dress4Dance will exercise reasonable care and may photograph the item on arrival to document existing wear, damage, missing stones, weakened fabrics, and other conditions. Dress4Dance is not responsible for pre-existing defects or deterioration unrelated to its work, but remains responsible for damage caused by its failure to exercise reasonable care. Chargeable work and material changes require Customer approval; fragile or technically impracticable repairs may be declined.
6. Return shipping after service. Dress4Dance arranges return shipping; the Customer pays shipping, handling and required protection in both directions, including warranty-service shipments, except where law requires otherwise. Items valued at $1,000 or more will be shipped with available protection for full documented insurable value. Dress4Dance may await payment of authorized charges before dispatch.
7. Ownership and transit risk. Full payment or Customer ownership does not, by itself, determine when risk of loss passes. Responsibility for loss, theft or damage on Dress4Dance-arranged outbound shipments is governed by the agreement and applicable law. Dress4Dance is not responsible for losses caused solely by an independent carrier after transit risk has lawfully passed to the Customer; it remains responsible for its own negligent packing or handling and non-waivable delivery obligations.
8. Insurance limitations. Dress4Dance’s business insurance does not provide transit coverage for Customer-owned items. Carrier declared value is not necessarily insurance, and reimbursement is subject to actual coverage, valuation documentation, exclusions and claims requirements. Purchasing or declining optional coverage does not alter statutory customer rights.
9. Damage reports and claims. Customers are requested to inspect deliveries promptly and notify Dress4Dance of apparent damage, shortage, or loss within 24 hours where reasonably possible, retaining packaging, labels and photographs. This requested period does not waive legal remedies. Dress4Dance will reasonably assist with documentation for claims on shipments it arranged.
10. Delays and addresses. Customers must supply complete delivery details. Dress4Dance is not responsible for delays beyond its reasonable control except as otherwise agreed or required by law. Actual carrier charges caused by incorrect addresses, failed delivery, or return-to-sender may be charged when lawfully disclosed. Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.
11. Preservation of rights. Nothing in this policy excludes any obligation or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Product Warranty
Product Warranty
1. Limited one-year craftsmanship warranty. Dress4Dance warrants workmanship on garments it manufactures for one (1) year from delivery during normal and intended wear and use. Covered defects include faulty construction or stitching, seams splitting because of defective workmanship, and detachment during normal use of genuine Swarovski® elements originally applied by Dress4Dance.
2. Repair-only voluntary remedy. For a valid claim under this voluntary limited warranty, Dress4Dance will repair or correct the covered workmanship defect without charging for covered repair labor or materials. Under this voluntary warranty Dress4Dance does not offer a refund, replacement costume, or exchange, except where applicable law provides a non-waivable remedy.
3. Repair condition. Repairs address only the covered defect, such as missing covered stones or split seams caused by faulty workmanship. Dress4Dance does not promise restoration of a worn garment to its original, unused or brand-new condition. Reasonable visible differences in stitching, stone positioning or appearance may result from repairing delicate couture; Dress4Dance will exercise reasonable professional care.
4. Exclusions. This voluntary warranty excludes ordinary wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, improper cleaning, storage or handling, excessive abrasion, third-party alterations or repairs, and changes in the wearer’s measurements. Non-Swarovski stones and their attachment are not covered. Fabrics, trimmings, fringe, feathers, zippers, hooks, buttons, closures and other components are not independently warranted against wear or failure; defective workmanship in attaching or installing them remains covered.
5. Claims and inspection. The Customer should notify Dress4Dance during the warranty period, provide proof of purchase and a description and available photographs, and permit reasonable inspection. Dress4Dance may document garment condition before service and determine whether the claimed issue is a covered workmanship defect.
6. Warranty shipping. Customers pay inbound and return shipping, handling, and required shipping protection in accordance with the Shipping, Insurance and Risk of Loss Policy, except where law requires otherwise. Shipping protection is mandatory for garments valued at $1,000 or more. Dress4Dance’s business insurance does not cover transit of Customer-owned merchandise.
7. Third-party goods. Shoes, jewelry, accessories, cosmetics and other merchandise manufactured by third parties may carry the original manufacturer’s warranty, subject to its terms. Dress4Dance does not independently provide a manufacturer’s warranty for these products; this does not eliminate seller obligations or consumer remedies imposed by law.
8. Non-waivable rights. These voluntary warranty limitations do not eliminate any remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including remedies that may be available for nonconforming goods.

The Dress4Dance.Com Points program ("Program") sponsored by Dress4Dance.com ("Sponsor") is designed to help you get the most out of your purchases. We reward you for doing the things you already do: shop on dress4dance.com (the "Site"). Best of all, the points you earn can be used to purchase more products.
The following Rewards Terms and Conditions contain important information regarding the Program. Please read them carefully.
These Rewards Terms and Conditions are incorporated into the Site Terms and Conditions. Acceptance of the Site Terms and Conditions constitutes acceptance of these Rewards Terms and Conditions.
These Rewards Terms and Conditions are a binding agreement between you and Sponsor and govern your participation in Program offers.
Reward points are promotional loyalty benefits. They are not cash, a bank account, a purchased gift card, or a purchased gift certificate and have no cash value except for the redemption value expressly provided by the program.
Being eligible for the Program entitles Registered Customers ("Members") to take advantage of certain Program rewards ("Rewards") that may change from time to time and may be available for limited periods, as determined by Sponsor.
Sponsor may modify the program and these rewards terms and conditions prospectively, subject to applicable law. Material changes will be communicated or posted in a reasonable manner.
Participation in the Program and/or redemption of Rewards constitutes acceptance of the then-applicable Rewards Terms and Conditions.
Upon notice, Sponsor may cancel, change, suspend or modify aspects of the Program and/or Program Rewards, including availability, subject to applicable law and any rights that cannot be modified or cancelled.

The expiration provision applies to promotional reward points and does not apply to a purchased gift card, purchased gift certificate, or other stored value that is subject to different requirements under applicable law.

Dress4Dance's determination regarding program abuse, fraud, or violation will control administration of the program, subject to applicable law.
Release
