Policies and Procedures


Custom Design process.

  • Your Gown is guaranteed to be a unique Dress4Dance creation. This does not apply to training attire and accessories. We are not responsible for Dress4Dance designs, although copyrighted, being copied by other ballroom attire makers.
  • Please fill out online Made-to-Measure order form. Please tell us about yourself. It is important that we know your dance style, dance experience, what the outfit is for, your favorite colors etc.
  • Please share with us any ideas you may have for your dream costume.
  • We have a professional design team to help you with your final selection. Feel free to e-mail us your measurements (you can also enclose your photo) and we'll help you to pick the gown that will suit you best.
  • A payment of $500 representing a fee for custom design sketches must be made before we begin to design your gown. This amount is a non-refundable deposit and will be applied toward the final price of the outfit.
  • After we receive the deposit, we will begin sketching outfits for you. We will revise the sketches until you are happy with the design. Please consider these sketches carefully. Once we start constructing the gown, any design changes that result in added labor or material will cost extra.
  • Once sketch is approved, we will send you a contract to sign*. Please return it to us with down payment that will enable us to start the manufacturing process. We require 50% deposit on custom orders. Balance is payable upon completion of the order.
  • We will send you a swatch and rhinestones for your approval once your order is placed. Please contact us if you don't get them.
  • We will work on your budget. We can decorate your outfit in stages. For example, we'll decorate the gown with some stones. You can send it back to us later for additional decorations. We make sure that the gown looks complete at any stage.
  • Please let us know your timeframe when ordering the gown
  • We are busy. If possible, please allow minimum 1 1/2 month for the delivery of the custom outfit. We are happy to have you as our customer and will try our best to accommodate you on a short notice. A 10% rush order surcharge for orders placed less than 1 month prior to the delivery day and 15% rush order surcharge for orders placed 2 weeks prior to the delivery date may be added to the total of your bill. All prices reflect cash discount. Total price may vary depending on the item.
  • We are excited to work with you on your gown. Each gown will be built exclusively for you, according to your measurements. We recommend a minimum two fittings to insure a perfect fit. Ready-to-wear gowns or internet orders (though built according your measurements) may need to be adjusted to the body. We make it easy to alter your outfit if needed. We can alter the dress for you if you prefer. Please contact Dress4Dance for instructions. Alteration rate is $56.00 per hour plus materials and shipping.
  • For custom orders please contact us for the fabric and color availability. Fashions change fast. We are trying to make sure you'll get the most up-to-date look.
  • *The contract must be signed by the party responsible for payment under the contract.


    Ready-to-Wear and Dress4Dance workshop outfits.

  • We have a line of ready-to wear outfits. These items are in stock and available for immediate delivery.
  • Feel free to request a swatch on ready-to-wear gowns since the color can look different on the screen of your monitor.
  • Because of the highly stretchable nature of the fabric we are using to manufacture gowns, most outfits can accommodate different figure types and sizes with minimum or no alteration done. For example, one gown can be size 4 and still perfectly fit a dancer wearing size 8.
  • Dress4Dance workshop stocks dance outfits in different stages of readiness. These could be sketches that are finalized and are ready for production or outfits that are completed and are ready to be decorated. This is a good opportunity to have a gown created on a short notice but still have it customized to your taste.
  • To order a D4D workshop outfit, please fill out the Dress4Dance workshop order form, sign it and return to us with full payment for undecorated outfit plus down payment for the decorations. Please contact us for the estimate. The balance is due upon completion of the order.

  • Layaway plan.

    Dress4Dance provides an option for ready-to-wear competition costume layaway. Payments can be made in up to 4 installments over 4 months from the date of the order. The merchandise will be released to the customer after the final payment has been made. Customer may cancel the layaway order at any time before the final payment is made and receive a Store Credit for future purchases made at Dress4Dance. All credits will be reduced by

  • 20% re-stocking fee
  • Charges for any alterations, decorations or modifications requested by the Customer and completed prior to the cancellation request

  • Credit Cards, Returns and Shipping policy.

  • We accept VISA and MasterCard, money orders and certified/bank checks. We do not store Credit Card Information.
  • Since Custom Design and D4D workshop outfits are cut-to-measure and custom decorated to your taste they are NOT RETURNABLE. Please make your selection with care. Special order items (heel protectors, rhinestones, shoes, acessories etc.) purchased through Dress4Dance are not returnable.
  • We want you to be happy with your purchase. When choosing "previously owned" outfits, keep in mind that they've been altered to previous owner's figure. A chance of alterations being required is much grater than in a brand-new gown. Previously owned outfits are NOT RETURNABLE.
  • Ready to wear practice wear is returnable, provided the Customer contacts Dress4Dance within 2 business days following the delivery of the costume and requests return authorization number to be enclosed with the return of the ready to wear costume. All returned ready to wear costumes must be received by Dress4Dance within 5 business days from the date the costume was delivered to the Customer. Upon return of a new ready to wear costume within specified time, in its original condition, with all original tags attached and with the proof of purchase and return authorization number enclosed the Customer can receive a store credit from Dress4Dance which can be used toward another costume available for sale by Dress4Dance.
  • All items shipped insured. Tracking information will be supplied on request. Returns should be sent insured (for your protection) in original packaging. We are not liable for items lost in transit.
  • Once Dress4Dance delivers costume to a carrier, a risk of loss or damage to the costume is transferred to the Customer. The Customer is responsible for delivery charges, unless otherwise agreed. Dress4Dance can obtain a shipping insurance on behalf of the Customer at the Customer's request. Dress4Dance is not responsible for shipment and delivery delays caused by third parties.
  • We strongly recommend overnight shipping due to lesser chance of damage in transit. Shipping costs include insurance and are based on the value of the item and shipping method.
  • All items are carefully inspected. If the item got damaged during shipping, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt of the package.
